Connect and securely share information and data through web based systems
Portal technology offers a highly effective platform to enable multiple users, each with different needs, to reach information, people and places, controlled by their roles, authority and permissions.
WTG builds web based portal applications that amalgamate and fuse data, making information available to citizens interacting with secure government and to government personnel using ‘internal use only’ applications.
Examples of our projects include:
- An online police portal that allowed citizens to securely manage options given to them by the courts following driving offences. By creating a secure online system and moving away from a manual, paper based process the police were able to improve efficiency and make considerable savings. In addition the new portal has generated revenues of over £12 million a year and seen over one 100,000 cases processed so far.
- A critical national system expected to manage up to a 100 million nominal records. The WTG solution introduces extensive automation in to the process, reducing costs by at least 25%. Due to the extremely high profile nature of this project for the new government, there was a heavy emphasis placed on ensuring security.
The content management and data fusing technologies we work with are vitally important to accessibility and availability of data. Equally important and arguably more difficult to achieve is the implementation of complex business logic that glues it all together, alongside the very high quality front end delivered by our User Experience team that make these new applications so easy to take up and use.
