WTG was selected as one of 12 software & IT services companies to meet TechMarketView, the UK leading technology analyst team, at their inaugural Little British Battler event in London last week.
Well over 150 companies applied to participate, but only 12 players, including WTG, were selected as representative of small, privately-held UK IT companies that are playing to some of the big ‘themes’ driving the UK IT market, such as Buy Your Own Technology, Mobility, Big Data, and Cloud Computing.
At the event, Kieron Sambrook-Smith presented WTG’s innovative products and solutions to the TechMarketView team, who will write an in-depth analysis of the company and the other 12 Little British Battlers for publication in a special report.
Here is what the TechMarketView team had to say about WTG following their meeting with WTG’s CEO last week:
Web Technology Group looking for a ‘secure’ future --Self-styled ‘turn-around’ CEO, Kieron Sambrook-Smith appears to be working his magic again, this time at Web Technology Group (WTG), the reincarnated specialist secure applications systems integrator acquired (as Hyperlink) – and then divested – by Cable & Wireless. WTG’s client list looks like a who’s who in Criminal Justice agencies and beyond; indeed WTG boasts of managing 15 critical national systems used by 300k UK government secure users. The proceeds of last year’s £4m MBO are funding the development of an analytics package and an open source business process platform for Police and Local Government. WTG is almost the definition of a small company punching above its weight!
